This was to be the first Convair release. Originally a six song EP recorded between 2006 and 2007 it was finished and then shelved. The mix never seemed quite right and I had already moved on to newer material. Its younger sibling, 'Standard Mean Chord' saw the light of day in 2009 as a limited edition, handmade run of 100 CDs, and then again in 2010; remixed and released online only. But 'Abandoned Airframes' languished on the shelf, all but forgotten. Finally in 2016, after hastily releasing 'Live at the End of the World' it seemed like it might be time to revisit the old material. What you're listening to now is the result of that. Six of these songs predate 'Standard Mean Chord', and five more came after. The remaining four (bonus) tracks are scraps that were sitting around. Two are alternate studio versions, and two from a live performance.

I've done my best. It's time to let this bird out of the hangar.
